Employment type and location:
- Full-time hybrid role based in Montreal, Canada.
Role overview:
Create, develop, produce and integrate sound environments for video games and other visual media. Work with senior audio staff and game design teams to bring the creative vision to life and deliver immersive player and viewer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Design and edit sound assets for video games, trailers and other visual media according to project style and creative direction.
- Integrate sound assets into audio middleware such as Wwise or FMOD and game engines such as Unreal, Unity or custom engines.
- Design dynamic mixing hierarchies and audio systems in stereo and surround environments.
- Sync and mix audio for linear media.
- Test, find and fix audio-related bugs.
- Use basic scripting knowledge for game audio and workflow improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners and attend meetings.
- Contribute to documentation, project tracking and procedures.
- Execute recording sessions inside and outside the studio.
Requirements:
- Degree in a related discipline such as sound design, recording or music.
- Experience on at least two completed games, or an impressive portfolio/demo.
- Strong creativity in sound creation.
- Proficiency with a DAW such as Reaper and/or Pro Tools for sound design synced to visual material.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and work well in a team.
- Efficient work habits and time awareness.
- Ability to manage stress and meet deadlines.
