Low-Voltage Electronics Engineer

About this task

We are seeking a versatile Electrical Engineer responsible for identifying, analyzing, determining root causes of, implementing countermeasures for, and reporting issues affecting low-voltage PCBAs, including body controllers and vehicle computers. The engineer will work with test engineers to quickly mitigate issues and implement countermeasures at suppliers and factories, improving product quality, reliability, and durability.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with excellent analytical and organizational skills who is passionate about innovation, developing new skills, and contributing to next-generation engineering tools and systems.

Responsibilities
• Work with quality engineers, supplier engineers, and suppliers to monitor product performance and identify emerging issues. Prioritize failure modes based on severity, occurrence, and cost.
• Conduct detailed failure analysis and root-cause investigation, including board-level debugging to isolate faults for physical failure analysis.
• Apply electrical engineering and PCBA manufacturing knowledge to drive containment and corrective actions across production, design, suppliers, and firmware.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and implement preventive actions.
• Share lessons learned from previous field issues and provide early feedback through design reviews to identify product performance, reliability, and manufacturability issues and mitigate risks, including through DFMEAs.
• Participate in the ongoing optimization of products and processes in terms of performance, cost, and technology.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, power electronics, electronics, mechatronics, or a similar field. A master's degree in engineering is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in failure analysis, quality, or service within the consumer electronics or automotive industry is preferred.

Assignment details
Location: Malaysia; working language: English; expected assignment duration: two years.
