Expert Subtitle Translator/QCer: English to German

About this task

Responsibilities:
- Translate English-language film and television subtitles into German.
- Review and quality-check subtitle and dubbing translations for linguistic accuracy, cultural appropriateness, timing, and technical compliance.
- Identify and correct common closed-captioning and subtitling issues.
- Use subtitle-editing software and web-based localization platforms.

Requirements:
- Native-level German fluency and extensive knowledge of English.
- A university degree or equivalent professional translation experience.
- Experience in localization QC, audiovisual translation, or subtitling.
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and subtitle and dubbing best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, analytical thinking, and adaptability.
- Ability to sign a nondisclosure agreement before recruitment begins.
