Freelance Writer - Spanish (US)

Work location: Fully remote; applicants must reside in the United States
Engagement: Freelance project
Estimated start: Week of August 31, 2026
Estimated workload: Approximately 16.75 hours over two weeks, subject to feedback and revisions
Compensation: $468 USD per accepted short story of approximately 6,000 words; payment is made for completed submissions that pass quality checks.

Project:
- Write one original short story to help test and improve machine translation technology. Submissions will not be published or distributed, and writers may use their work after submission.
- Submit a brief plot for approval, complete the story within the specified timeframe and make revisions if requested.
- Write in an assigned genre based on your preference: kids, thriller/mystery, sci-fi/fantasy, self-help, romance or memoir/biography.

Requirements:
- Residency in the United States and native-level Spanish fluency, including excellent grammar, spelling and writing skills.
- Working proficiency in English for guidelines and communication.
- A degree in literature or creative writing and/or proven writing or content creation experience.
- Published books or strong writing samples in relevant genres are preferred.
