Linguist - German - Remote

About this task

Responsibilities:
- Translate content between English and German while preserving cultural nuance and clarity.
- Edit and refine language content for accuracy, tone and contextual relevance across digital platforms.
- Apply current language standards, usage trends, terminology and reference materials to deliverables.
- Evaluate language model quality and provide structured feedback.
- Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams on localization, content development and quality assurance for digital tools and applications.
- When required, creatively adapt source text so it reads naturally in German.

Requirements:
- Native-level German proficiency.
- A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics or language studies; or a graduate qualification in another field plus two years of full-time professional translation experience; or five years of full-time professional translation experience.
- Ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely.

Work arrangement:
- Remote independent-contractor work with flexible, project-dependent hours; hours are not guaranteed. Most tasks require availability of at least two hours per day or ten hours per week.
- Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and do not receive employee benefits.
