AV/QC Engineer

About this task

Responsibilities:
- Follow quality-control procedures to evaluate dubbed media, including recording quality, missing lines, titles, synchronization, dialogue and character-name continuity, voice matching, song treatment, and dialogue delivery.
- Check audio for clicks, distortion, mix clarity, sound-effects balance, perspective, M&E quality, loudness, dial norm, true peak levels, delivery formats, and labeling.
- Complete detailed QC reports identifying material that needs review or correction by recording, editing, or mixing engineers.
- Communicate project status and issues with production and post-production teams, meet production deadlines, and follow security requirements and current workflows.
- Provide administrative support as needed; recording, editing, or mixing work may also be assigned.

Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of sound-engineering experience in recording, editing, or mixing; an audio post-production, sound-engineering, or related degree is preferred.
- Working knowledge of ADR, audio QC, mixing, dubbing, and post-production workflows. Proficiency with audio mixing equipment and Avid Pro Tools.
- Understanding of sample rates, bit depth, audio speed, digital audio and video synchronization, timecode, and video codecs.
- Accurate listening and judgment, attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage media, changing priorities, and tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, independent initiative, teamwork, adaptability, and flexibility to work different hours when business needs require it.
