Bahasa Indonesia Over-the-Phone Interpreter

About this task

Position: Remote Bahasa Indonesia–English over-the-phone interpreter supporting USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.

Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time telephonic interpretation between Bahasa Indonesia and English in immigration, legal, and administrative settings.
- Interpret accurately, neutrally, and professionally while maintaining confidentiality under USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
- Handle scheduled assignments and urgent calls; participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.

Requirements:
- Native or near-native fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- At least two years of professional interpreting experience; immigration, legal, community, healthcare, or government experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity; strong telephone communication skills and accuracy under pressure.
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance. Court, community, medical, or ATA credentials are preferred.
