Ibo / Igbo Over the Phone Interpreter

About this task

Ibo / Igbo Interpreter providing telephone interpretation for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate English ↔ Ibo / Igbo interpretation by telephone.
- Facilitate communication between USCIS officers and people with limited English proficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality, impartiality and professionalism; follow interpreter ethics and standards.

Requirements:
- Fluency in English and Ibo / Igbo.
- Ability to perform accurate consecutive interpretation.
- Reliable phone and internet connection.
- Prior interpretation experience is preferred, particularly in legal, immigration or government settings.

Preferred qualifications:
- Experience interpreting for immigration or government agencies.
- Interpreter certification or professional training.
- Familiarity with USCIS terminology and procedures.
