About the Role
- Facilitate accurate, complete and culturally appropriate communication between English-speaking representatives and Limited English Proficient individuals through over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) and video remote interpretation (VRI).
- Interpret conversations involving healthcare, customer service, insurance, pharmacy, social services, financial assistance, scheduling and general client communications.
- Maintain confidentiality, impartiality and professional interpreting standards, including during difficult or emotional conversations.
Requirements
- At least one year of professional interpretation experience.
- Native or near-native fluency in English and Japanese.
- Experience providing OPI and VRI.
- Strong listening, verbal communication, interpersonal and customer service skills; cultural competency; and computer literacy.
- Ability to interpret complex conversations across industries and navigate multiple software applications simultaneously.
- Healthcare, hospital, insurance, pharmacy, social services or government interpretation experience is preferred.
