Caption Translator - English to German

About this task

Location: Remote position.

Responsibilities:
- Translate English captions and subtitles into German, as well as content in documents, web pages, and software.
- Post-edit machine translations, correcting cultural and localization issues.
- Adapt translations to word limits without changing their meaning; perform transcreation where needed.
- Maintain the translation database using translation management software.
- Provide translation quality assurance and resolve translation, localization, and cultural issues.
- Work with media and translation software, coordinate with other departments, and implement feedback.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or linguistics; additional certification in linguistics is a plus.
- At least four years of translation experience.
- Proficiency with translation management systems and knowledge of translation processes, terminology, localization techniques, guidelines, and standards.
- Strong English-to-German translation, writing, and communication skills, with a sound grasp of grammar.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
