Location and pay:
- Remote. Pay: $0.10–$0.20 per word of translation. Reports to a Task Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Translate, transcribe and summarize foreign-language text, audio and video into English while meeting designated style and quality standards.
- Translate complex, abstract, idiomatic, technical and colloquial material, preserving nuance and socioeconomic context and using appropriate domain terminology.
- Post-edit machine translations for accuracy and completeness.
- Use and develop glossaries, style guides, translation memories and other reference materials; review other translators’ work.
Basic qualifications:
- Ability to pass a translation performance test at ILR 4 to 4+ and advanced professional source-language reading and listening proficiency at ILR 4/4+.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet research, computer-assisted translation (CAT) and adaptive machine-translation tools.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
Preferred qualification:
- In-depth knowledge of source-language regionalisms, slang, colloquialisms and dialects.
