Top Secret Cleared/Clearable Language Instructors

Location and terms:
- Location: Reston, VA.
- Work 40 hours per week, including approximately 20 hours of teaching and 20 hours of lesson development, assessment and testing.
- Pay range: $62.00-$105.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:
- Teach a foreign language and develop lessons, assessments and tests.
- Initially work under the direction of a senior instructor. After acceptance into the program, complete training in foreign language teaching and testing to obtain certification under U.S. government standards.
- Collaborate with the team and give and receive constructive feedback on translation reviews.

Requirements:
- Native or near-native proficiency in English and Italian, Spanish or Portuguese.
- U.S. citizenship and willingness to obtain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Foreign-language and English reading and listening comprehension, language instruction or facilitation, and language testing skills.
- Content management, editing, quality control and test-item selection skills.
- Ability to pass an English reading comprehension test and a foreign-language-to-English translation test at ILR level 3 or higher; reading and speaking/listening skills at ILR level 3+ or higher.
- Ability to type at least 45 words per minute in English and the foreign language.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet tools, language-learning technology and teaching methods.
- Knowledge of the relevant region's history, culture, politics and economy.

Preferred qualifications:
- Current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and five years of language training experience.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a language.
