Automation Engineer

About this task

Location and work arrangement
- Makati City or Cebu City, Philippines. The Makati office is at Exportbank Plaza.
- Hybrid setup, Monday to Friday. Working hours: 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m.–11:30 p.m. PHT.
- Individual contributor reporting to the Lead Developer.

Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize web scraping and automation solutions using Python, Playwright, Selenium, BeautifulSoup, and Pandas.
- Build scalable scraping systems for retailer and product monitoring, with a focus on data accuracy, reliability, and coverage.
- Extract, validate, and monitor product and model data, including automated screenshots of web pages.
- Turn scripts and prototypes into production-ready applications. Integrate APIs, webhooks, and third-party services into data workflows.
- Develop backend services in PHP and responsive interfaces using Vue.js, React.js, HTML5, SASS, Bootstrap, and Tailwind CSS.
- Support AI-assisted automation and workflow improvements; troubleshoot issues and improve system performance and scraping reliability.
- Document technical processes and system changes. Coordinate with development teams and project managers in the Philippines and Paris, provide daily updates, and maintain tasks and tickets using tools such as JIRA and Slack.
- Participate in training, team meetings, and urgent discussions as required.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Selenium, Playwright, web scraping, responsive websites, and e-commerce websites.
- Knowledge of Python, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and dynamic web elements; experience developing scraping and workflow automation solutions.
- Ability to analyze and automate business processes, troubleshoot production issues, and work independently across multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with computer vision and AI-assisted automation; strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice to have
- Experience with Google Apps Script, OCR or image recognition, Looker Studio, content management systems, large datasets, Git, deployment workflows, or CI/CD pipelines.
