- Senior bilingual content strategy role focused primarily on translating, localizing, and assuring the quality of Spanish-language content for state claimant- and employer-facing digital services.
- Translate English content into clear, accurate, legally sound, culturally appropriate Spanish while preserving legal and regulatory intent and making complex government information understandable.
- Apply content strategy expertise within an agile, human-centered design environment to improve content quality and establish scalable bilingual workflows.
- This is a fully remote role. Eligible hiring locations are Alabama, California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
- Occasional travel to client sites or company meetings is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead the translation, localization, and quality assurance of English content into Spanish for claimant- and employer-facing digital experiences.
- Review and validate Spanish content for legal accuracy, cultural appropriateness, consistent program terminology, plain language, and accessibility.
- Translate and adapt instructional text, workflows, help content, notifications, and application guidance while preserving the intent of the English source.
- Ensure legal, regulatory, and public benefits information is accurately represented in Spanish without loss of meaning or ambiguity.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Spanish-language content quality and resolve linguistic, cultural, and terminology questions with stakeholders.
- Review and refine machine-assisted translations to meet quality and accuracy standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, content designers, engineers, and content stakeholders to integrate bilingual content into sprint delivery cycles.
- Define content standards, governance, and reusable patterns that support scalable bilingual experiences.
- Conduct content audits and recommend improvements to clarity, consistency, accessibility, and user comprehension.
- Support metadata, information architecture, and content organization to improve findability and maintainability.
- Participate in user research and content validation to ensure translated content effectively serves Spanish-speaking users.
- Apply advanced expertise across content design, content strategy, product design, service design, user research, and UX leadership to establish the vision, strategy, and systems for scalable, user-centered solutions.
- Coach and mentor peers, share knowledge, and strengthen the design community.
- Ensure timely delivery aligned with client priorities and quality standards; anticipate risks, monitor team deliverables, coach teammates on mitigation, and keep leadership informed.
- Cultivate stakeholder relationships, synthesize insights across client organizations and partner ecosystems, and provide actionable recommendations to inform strategy and delivery.
- Deliver intuitive, accessible, aesthetically compelling outcomes using design best practices, tools, and research methods.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and align stakeholders with product and project goals that support adoption, retention, customer satisfaction, and team success.
Required Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in content strategy, localization, translation, UX writing, or content design supporting digital products or large-scale websites.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Translation, Linguistics, Spanish, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Native or professional fluency in both Spanish and English, with demonstrated experience translating and localizing digital content for Spanish-speaking audiences.
- Extensive experience translating, reviewing, and validating Spanish-language content involving legal, regulatory, public benefits, healthcare, financial, or government information where accuracy is critical.
- Strong understanding of cultural and regional differences within Spanish-speaking audiences and the ability to make appropriate localization decisions.
- Ability to preserve legal and regulatory intent while producing clear, accessible, plain-language translations.
- Experience applying plain language principles, WCAG accessibility standards, and human-centered design practices to bilingual digital content.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional agile teams, including product managers, UX designers, engineers, and content stakeholders.
- Demonstrated content strategy experience in content governance, content modeling, content audits, or information architecture supporting scalable content operations.
- A portfolio demonstrating previous work, design approach, and individual contributions is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with translation management or localization platforms such as Localize, Smartling, Phrase, or Crowdin.
- Experience supporting government digital services, unemployment insurance, workforce development, or other public benefits programs.
- Experience improving machine-assisted translations and establishing localization quality assurance processes.
- Familiarity with generative AI and translation technologies for improving localization workflows while maintaining human quality review.
- Google UX Design Certificate, Content Strategy for Professionals specialization, ATA certification, or other professional translation or localization credentials.

Compensation
- Minimum salary: $96,132.
- Salary midpoint: $124,971.
- Maximum salary: $162,462.
- Hiring range for the role: $96,132 - $126,000.
- Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance criteria.
