QA Specialist (EN>KR)

About this task

Position Overview

QA specialist for English-to-Korean localization, responsible for subtitle, template and transcription quality assurance. Review, edit and proofread subtitles, templates, transcriptions and reference documents for linguistic accuracy. Ensure client guidelines, requirements and feedback are incorporated into deliverables while maintaining creative integrity and client specifications.

Responsibilities

- Review subtitles, templates and transcriptions for grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency and fluency.
- Escalate quality issues and collaborate with production teams to resolve them promptly.
- Validate feedback with language leads and evaluators as needed.
- Adjust materials to the appropriate format while preserving original content and the accuracy of spoken dialogue and text elements.
- Annotate cultural and contextual notes in templates to support localization into other target languages.
- Ensure files are error-free and finalize deliverables to meet industry standards and individual client specifications.
- Train and onboard new QA Specialists, ensuring alignment with quality standards.
- Participate in internal training to stay updated on industry standards and workflows.

Requirements

- Extensive experience in editing for subtitling and scripting.
- Strong written and spoken Korean and English language skills.
- Strong organization, attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and general software tools.
- Well-rounded knowledge of historical and contemporary events, cultural references, slang and idioms.
