Freelance Ecommerce Copywriter

About this task

Freelance ecommerce copywriting role supporting a toy brand's Amazon and similar ecommerce marketplace listings. Remote working.

Responsibilities:
- Create, optimise and manage product titles, bullet points and descriptions across product listings.
- Adapt brand messaging and product unique selling points into keyword-optimised, shopper-relevant content that drives performance.
- Maintain content quality, consistency and compliance with brand and platform-specific guidelines.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and accurate content delivery.

Requirements:
- Ability to write in US English.
- Minimum 5 years of copywriting experience in retail or online marketplace ecommerce.
- Demonstrable experience optimising content for Amazon or similar marketplaces, such as Walmart or Tesco, ideally for consumer products or toys.
- Robust knowledge of SEO, keywords, shopper intent and ecommerce search behaviour.
- Ability to identify and correct inconsistencies, improve readability, adapt messaging to specific product categories and follow brand tone.
- Comfortable working with structured content templates and authoring tools.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of how small changes can affect performance.

Preferred qualifications:
- Experience following intellectual property partner guidelines when creating copy.
- Experience working with global brands or managing content across international marketplaces.
- Background in retail or Amazon marketplaces, digital marketing, SEO optimisation, content creation, copywriting or digital communications.
- Strong experience creating product copy for the toy industry.
- Strong experience integrating SEO keyword research into product copy.
- Hands-on SEO research experience, including tools such as Semrush and Helium, is advantageous but not essential; advanced keyword research experience is not mandatory.
