Internal Medical Translator (English > Korean)

About this task

Responsibilities:
- Translate written medical and life sciences materials from English into Korean, preserving the original meaning, facts, structure, style, and cultural appropriateness.
- Deliver translations on time and meet client quality requirements, following all supplied materials and instructions.
- Research industry-specific terminology and cross-reference specialized glossaries and translation tools.
- Proofread translated texts for terminology, grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy.
- Collaborate with the language solutions team to identify gaps in instructions or external issues that could affect delivery commitments.
- Update and improve glossaries, translation memories, style guides, and other internal linguistic assets.
- Provide thorough, relevant feedback on translations completed by other linguists or external partners.
- Serve as a point of contact for feedback concerning translation quality and on-time delivery.

Requirements:
- Native Korean speaker with excellent spoken and written Korean and fluent spoken and written English.
- At least 3 years of experience translating, reviewing, and editing life sciences content, including clinical trial documents.
- A tertiary or university degree in translation or linguistics and at least 3 years of translation experience, or at least 5 years of translation experience without a university degree.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with translation management systems and CAT tools is required.
- Experience with memoQ is desirable.
- Previous experience with a translation and localization company is desirable but not essential.
- Strong commitment to quality and accuracy, research skills, and problem-solving ability.
