Linguist - (Caribbean Spanish)

About this task

Location and Employment
- Listed work locations: Detroit, MI, and Boston, MA.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Classification: Non-exempt, eligible for overtime.
- Hourly pay: $28.73.
- Travel to client sites is required.
- Public Trust security clearance, or the ability to obtain it, is required.

Responsibilities
- Perform real-time and recorded transcription from Spanish into English to support sensitive law enforcement work.
- Produce accurate, court-ready written materials.
- Identify, decode, and document colloquialisms, slang, and coded language.
- Extract pertinent information and communicate effectively with law enforcement personnel.
- Listen to live or recorded Spanish communications and produce verbal and written synopses, transcriptions, and translations as required by the project.

Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional communication for a client-facing role.
- Ability to represent the program professionally.
- Preference for a seasoned, highly experienced linguist who can work independently and maintain high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
