Freelance English (US) Live CART Captioner

About this task

Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate real-time English (US) captioning for live events, presentations, and broadcasts.
- Follow caption placement, formatting, and accessibility standards while maintaining accuracy under tight real-time deadlines.
- Work independently and collaboratively with production teams.

Requirements:
- Be based in the United States and have native-level English (US) proficiency.
- Have prior experience in live broadcasting, media production, or a real-time subtitling unit.
- Be proficient with professional captioning software and equipment and familiar with WebVTT and SRT formats.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and sustained focus under pressure.
- Be willing to travel domestically for specific live events or on-site productions and work outside normal business hours when live broadcasts require it.

Role details:
- Freelance contract with remote work within the United States.
- Intermediate level; 2–5 years of experience.
- Flexible project volume and scheduling, subject to live-event requirements.
