Voice Director - Italian

Work location: Remote in Europe; listed location: Italy.
Engagement model: Independent Contractor/Freelance.
Estimated workload: 42 hours over 2 weeks, with the possibility of extension.

Availability: Up to 25 hours per week.
Languages required: Italian and English.

Direct voice talents remotely for a Text-to-Speech (TTS) development project, ensuring natural delivery and adherence to project guidelines.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee remote recording sessions through a proprietary platform.
- Provide real-time coaching on pronunciation, tone, pacing, prosody, enunciation, and natural speech delivery.
- Ensure accurate pronunciation and consistency across recording sessions.
- Verify compliance with project guidelines and recording standards.
- Ensure recordings accurately follow the provided scripts and reflect authentic contemporary Italian.
- Identify and report technical or environmental issues affecting recording quality, including background noise, distortion, clipping, microphone artifacts, and other recording defects.

Requirements:
- Native fluency in Italian and good English communication skills.
- Professional experience directing voice talents or demonstrable expertise in spoken Italian.
- Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional experience in at least one of the following: voice direction or voice acting; linguistics, preferably focusing on phonetics, phonology, or sociolinguistics; speech technology; or voice coaching.

Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience directing TTS projects.
- Knowledge of phonetics and speech production.
- Experience working on speech, voice, or language-related projects.
- Familiarity with remote recording platforms or digital audio production workflows.
