About this task

Responsibilities:
- Translate content between English and Icelandic while preserving cultural nuance and clarity.
- Edit and refine content for accuracy, tone, and contextual relevance across digital platforms.
- Apply current language standards, usage trends, terminology, reference materials, and best practices.
- Evaluate language model quality and provide structured feedback.
- Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to localize content for Icelandic-speaking markets.
- Support content development, localization, and quality assurance for digital tools and applications.
- Creatively adapt content when transcreation is required so that it reads naturally in the target language.

Requirements:
- Native-level Icelandic proficiency.
- A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies; alternatively, a graduate qualification in another field plus two years of full-time professional translation experience, or five years of full-time professional translation experience.
- Ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely.

Working arrangements:
- Remote independent-contractor work based in Iceland, with flexible hours and no fixed schedule.
