About this task

Remote freelance copy-editing assignment for candidates in EMEA, working on mathematics textbooks for Grade 2–8 ESL students in Vietnam. The project adapts English language levels for students and includes tagging instructional content for Vietnamese translation.

Responsibilities:
- Perform substantive editing for cultural sensitivity, accuracy, artwork logs, and translation tagging.
- Edit for meaning and consistency across headings, key terms, cross-dependencies, unit features, activities, questions and answers, and glossaries.
- Work with Word manuscripts, artwork and photo logs, previous-edition PDFs, house style guides, query log templates, bilingual approach spreadsheets, and primary and lower-secondary feature briefs.
- Deliver tracked-change and clean manuscript files, copy-edited artwork logs, and a final query log with responses incorporated into the manuscript.
- Return the client brief with a completed checklist and any necessary notes for the typesetter or proofreader.

Requirements:
- Native or native-level English proficiency.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- At least three years of experience teaching English to young learners.
- At least three years of copy-editing experience.
- Knowledge of Vietnamese and the corporate business environment is desirable.

Availability: 6–8 hours per day throughout the listed periods or during selected weeks. The source lists January 19–26, 2026, and October 26–November 9, 2026.
