Freelance Subtitlers – Dutch, Khmer, Latvian, Urdu, Kazakh, Traditional Chinese, and Czech

About this task

Freelance subtitlers are sought to translate, subtitle, and quality-check audiovisual trailer assets according to client-specific guidelines. Native speakers of Dutch, Khmer, Latvian, Urdu, Kazakh, Traditional Chinese, Traditional Chinese for Taiwan, or Czech are needed.

Responsibilities:
- Subtitle and translate trailer dialogue to visual and technical specifications and deliver files as SRT.
- Translate on-screen text, forced narratives, key artwork text, and digital banners.
- Quality-check subtitles completed by other freelancers.

Requirements:
- Native fluency in one of the listed languages and a high level of English.
- Five years of subtitling experience and experience with Subtitle Edit.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and respond promptly to feedback.
- Familiarity with Jira and a portfolio or work samples are desirable.

Theatrical work is seasonal, with higher volumes expected in the fourth and first quarters. During busy periods, availability for at least two titles per week is requested. Work may have a 24-hour delivery deadline. Anticipated engagement: September 2026 through April 2027. Rates: TEP (Translation and QC combined) – Teaser: $60; QA – 30/15-second/Teaser: $10; QA – Full Trailer: $25. Invoices are paid through Wise or bank transfer at the end of the month following invoicing.
