About this task
Location: Mexico. Remote contract role.
Role Overview
Provide proofreading, localization review, and linguistic quality assurance for English-to-Spanish script adaptations. This is primarily an editing and review role, not a from-scratch creative writing position. Use the AI adaptation tool to generate Spanish scripts from English originals, then review them line by line to produce clean, consistent scripts ready for AI voice production. Work with Senior Writers, the AI production team, and voice artists, incorporate their feedback, and log recurring adaptation issues.
Responsibilities
- Review AI-generated Spanish scripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, accents, sentence structure, and register.
- Compare adaptations against the English source to identify mistranslations, awkward or literal phrasing, missing context, dropped lines, and tonal inconsistencies.
- Preserve the original meaning, tone, emotion, and narrative intent while ensuring dialogue sounds natural for each character and situation.
- Follow editorial standards and deliver clean, production-ready drafts.
- Format scripts for the AI voice pipeline, including clear speaker labels and separation of dialogue and narration, without stray symbols or formatting errors.
- Check that required emotion tags are present, accurate, and appropriate to the scene and character.
- Adjust punctuation, sentence length, and rhythm to support natural voice pacing and delivery.
- Rewrite numbers, dates, abbreviations, symbols, foreign words, unusual names, and other text likely to be mispronounced or misread by AI voices.
- Flag lines that are too long, dense, or difficult to perform for revision before production.
- Prepare localization sheets and concept notes adapting names, locations, entities, and cultural references to Spanish-speaking contexts.
- Ensure localization choices are culturally appropriate, audience-friendly, and applied consistently.
