Linguist - Mexican Spanish

About this task

Perform real-time and/or recorded transcription from Spanish to English in support of sensitive law enforcement work. Produce accurate, court-ready written products; identify, decode, and document colloquialisms, slang, and coded language; and extract and communicate pertinent information to law enforcement personnel. Work may include transcribing source documents and recordings from digital media, audio, and video.

Requirements: Spanish-to-English language proficiency and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain it. Travel to client sites is required. This is an as-needed, part-time position contingent on project availability; assignments may involve day or night shifts, weekends, and holidays, and may reach up to 40 hours per week. Non-exempt; eligible for overtime. Hourly rate: $28.73.
