Mandarin Linguist

About this task

Responsibilities:
- Transcribe Mandarin audio into English in real time and from recordings for sensitive law enforcement work.
- Produce accurate, court-ready written products and document colloquialisms, slang, and coded language.
- Extract pertinent information and communicate it effectively to law enforcement personnel.
- Travel to client sites and support assigned projects through completion; schedules may include day or night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements:
- Native or strong Mandarin linguistic ability and excellent English writing skills.
- Strong accuracy, professionalism, and interpersonal communication skills; able to work independently and represent the program professionally.
- Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain it.
- As-needed, part-time work, typically up to 40 hours per week when assigned; non-exempt and eligible for overtime.
