Machine Translation Post-Editor with Portuguese-Portugal.
Location: Remote.
Employment type: Freelance.
Schedule: Project-based; hours vary according to project needs, and flexibility with a changing schedule is essential.
Fields of expertise: Marketing, IT/software, software UI and product documentation.

Responsibilities:
- Perform light and full post-editing of machine translation outputs according to client specifications.
- Ensure the target text accurately reflects the meaning of the source.
- Correct and optimize machine-translated text.
- Follow post-editing guidelines and meet client quality standards.
- Perform linguistic tasks according to project instructions, translation memories, glossaries and style guides.
- Maintain grammatical accuracy and consistent terminology; identify inconsistencies and incorrect cultural references.
- Correct formatting, tags, punctuation, country-specific conventions, terminology, style and fluency.

Requirements:
- Degree in Translation, Applied Linguistics or equivalent experience.
- Native speaker of European Portuguese.
- Machine Translation Post-Editing experience.
- Excellent English comprehension and writing skills.
- Translation and proofreading experience in IT and software preferred.
- Experience with translation memory tools and translation management systems.
- IT skills and experience with SDL Studio and CAT tools.
- Excellent understanding of machine translation post-editing processes and tools.
- Comfortable with technology and willing to learn new tools.
- Linguistic and cultural competence in the source and target languages.
- Ability to adapt to changing project priorities, maintain professionalism under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
