Technical Translator — European Spanish

About this task

Technical translator working from English and/or Italian into European Spanish, specializing in technical documentation.
Location: Remote; candidates must be located in Latin America.
Employment type: Freelance.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure the target text accurately reflects the meaning of the source.
- Perform linguistic tasks according to project instructions, translation memories, glossaries and style guides.
- Maintain grammatical accuracy and consistent terminology; identify inconsistencies and inappropriate cultural references.
- Correct formatting, tagging, punctuation, country-specific conventions, terminology, style and fluency according to guidelines.

Requirements:
- Degree in Translation, Applied Linguistics or equivalent experience.
- Native Spanish speaker with excellent comprehension and writing skills in European Spanish.
- Linguistic and cultural competence in the source and target languages.
- Experience translating and proofreading technical content is preferred.
- IT skills and experience with CAT tools.
- Comfortable with technology and willing to learn new tools.
- Ability to adapt to changing project priorities, maintain professionalism under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
